A New Brushing Experience

Want to hear something sweet?

My husband, after reading my previous post, went to Target on his lunch break yesterday and bought me an electric toothbrush! He even put it in a cute bag! He knows how affected I am by presentation. Is that speaking my love language or what?!

So last night was my first time ever to use one of these, and let me just tell you: turn the toothbrush on after you put it in your mouth. Do it before like I did and toothpaste splatters everywhere. Duh!

Also thank you to all who commented and sympathized or empathized with me.

Dates

Guys usually get a bad reputation for being a little slow in the date-remembering department, but not my guy. He remembers every important date having to do with "us".

I get so consumed with remembering the gazillion birthdays, appointment dates, special event dates, sport dates, and every other misc. date on the calendar, that I do tend to forget those special, romantic dates that happened forever ago. About a week ago, my dear husband blogged about one of those "dates". If you are curious and haven't already read about it, go here.

Thanks, Babe, for remembering stuff like that!

How to Keep Your Man Comin' Home Even After 10 Years

Well, I have been married now for over 10 years, so I guess that means I have earned the right to dish out advice.

I believe I have discovered at least 10 secrets to having a successful marriage.

So for those brave enough to take the plunge, or for those who have already taken the plunge, here are 10 time tested tips to keep your man comin' home even after 10 years.

1. Have at least 3 kids so your belly has time to get that attractive deflated balloon, cottage cheesy look.

2. Breastfeed for at least 4 years so you can wear the special order bras with inverted cups.

3. Go natural. Shower at the most every other day.

4. Go natural. Wear very little to no makeup.

5. Go natural. Wear greasy, unwashed hair in a clip.

6. Wear old, outdated, faded, stained clothes. Even better if they have fresh snot trails.

7. Go out on no more than 3 dates a year, and by all means never go away on vacation with just the two of you.

8. Plan a weekly menu of mouth watering, satisfying meals that regularly consist of mac & cheese, eggs and toast, grilled cheese, beans & cornbread, and baked potatoes with salad.

9. Always be tired and go to bed by 9pm. This is a real winner b/c fewer conversations means fewer arguments.

10. Last but not least spend your weekends cleaning, grocery shopping, washing clothes and getting ready for the next week.

There you have it. Carefully follow these guidelines and you can be on your way to having a fairytale marriage.

Ten Years Ago Today

Ten years ago today I was all dressed up in my wedding dress about to enter the Bellevue chapel and walk down the isle. I was all smiles as Mark sang a song he wrote for me. Shortly after the ceremony we headed off to Jerry's for some delicious sno cones. Later we were off to the valley of Georgetown, Colorado for our week long honeymoon. Seems like yesterday and ages ago.

If you had asked me then what I'd be doing for my 10th anniversary, I would have said something like,"Ooooh, maybe going someplace exotic and relaxing, maybe some touristy place overseas, maybe Disney World (I have never been), I don't know something really exciting."

But, as we all know, life happens, and instead we are paying for root canals, braces, a new house, and have 3 little, wonderful rug rats to keep up with. It's really okay, though. I'd rather have what I have than freedom, time, and $ to go on vacation. Our time will come when we can celebrate really big someday. I just hope I am not using a walker to get around then!

Happy Anniversary

"And in his heart my heart is locked, and in his life my life." --Christina Rossetti

I believe I truly have married someone who has and will continue to weather the storms of life with me and kiss me when I am old and gray and beauty has faded away.

Thanks for 9 great years!

Health Nut

I claim to be a health nut, not a health freak. I never want to be labeled a hypocrite in this area so I will admit right off the bat that I have an insatiable sweet tooth! I absolutely LOVE chocolate, most desserts, anything with carbs, a good juicy fast food hamburger every once in a while(although I might have a harder time enjoying this treat after viewing Superkraut's cow photos), Papa John's pineapple pizza, M&Ms( it is nothing for me to eat a huge bag in one day), and well the list goes on and on. Now that I have a clear conscience, I can move forward with what I really wanted to write about.
Alot has changed since I was a little girl, and there is still lots of changing to do. My grocery shopping fantasy is to one day be able to do ALL of my grocery shopping at Wild Oats! (Ecxept when I need that bag of M&M's) I grew up on Hamburger Helper, canned veggies, Little Debbie's, Kool-Aid, antibiotics, and nuked food out the whazoo, but ever since I started seeing a Chiropractor at the age of 14, I have been hooked on anything and everything that has to do with a natural, alternative healthy lifestyle. What is really funny, though, is that I am married to someone who cares as much about this topic as I care about camping. Any reputable matchmaking company would have never put us together based upon our eating habits. Come to think of it, we are pretty much opposites about everything, but since it was The Matchmaker who put us together, I can confidently say we are just right for one another. I would HATE to be married to someone just like me!! (I am kinda hard to live with!)
For over a decade I have spent many hours researching herbology, aromatherapy, homeopathy, healthy eating, etc... and have been trying my best to put all of the knowledge I have acquired into practice. There is still SO much more I want to learn, and half the stuff I have already learned I have forgotten. While I am by no means an expert, I hope to use my blog as an outlet to share some of the things that I have learned. If you have any tips, please share. I'm on the edge of my seat when it comes to health!
My pictures wouldn't load, and I am tired of trying. So I will go ahead and post pictureless=(
